Here's one we haven't seen before

Following the paper store, we went to the archeological museum.

While I've seen the Uffizi, etc. (and waited in the accompanying lines) these are a little more up signore "I'm kind of on Greece's side"'s alley. This museum was special in that it was at one point a hospital (up to WWII), and thus had extremely long corridors, and a huge collection spanning every century you can possibly span from 1200 BC on, most was from 800 - 100 BC. It was a good walk. Not a problem except at the end, we walked all the way back to the front to go to the restroom (and leave), only to find out the only restroom was located at the top and back of the collection, unmarked of course. Oh, Italia...

We walked home to get ready for supper at La Giostra, Merm's favorite from her time studying abroad in Florence. So so good! Darling place with twinkly lights on the ceiling, which is from the 1600's - they used the building as a cellar to store wine and olive oil. Nicholas had the veal marsala and we started with an out of this world prosciutto e melone. So good we couldn't stop eating, even though the portion was enormous. I had pear, gorgonzola, and pine nut penne and a killer veal with lemon. Finished with a tiramisu su su (house special) - light-ish, creamy and delicious. Thank you Merm!

This was also the night we (again) toasted our anniversary in Italia with our very kind gift from Nicholas' parents, thanks Cristy and Jack!
