I've missed you. Nicholas is very pleased to make your acquaintance.
We're pretty sure it doesn't get much better than this lovely hotel room view (thanks Mom and John!).
We arrived well-rested (thanks, sleep aids!) and decided to walk to the Vatican.
The line to get into St. Peter's Basilica was wrapped halfway around the crescent, but we were undaunted! (This is Nicholas' "I'm undaunted by this insanely long line" face).
And were well-rewarded for our patience.
We went to the Vatican Museums and Sistine chapel next. With a tour guide, this ate up most of our afternoon, and we walked back to our hotel just in time for drinks on the rooftop.
A great first day in bella Roma.
